Parts Exam Transcripts - Common Questions

Prior to the implementation of USMLE in 1994, NBME administered a licensure examination series called NBME Part exams. These exams were administered from 1922 – 1994.

Examinees took NBME Part I, Part II, and Part III on their pathway to medical licensure.

The NBME transcript, called the NBME “Record of Scores” or “Endorsement of Certification,” includes identification information and passing history of NBME Part examination scores.  NBME Part failing history is reported when specifically requested or required by a licensing authority.

To request a transcript of NBME Part Exam scores, examinees may log in to their accounts on the NBME Licensing Exam Services (NLES) websiteIf you have not used the site before, click on the "First-time user? Register here" link. Once logged in, click on the "Transcripts" menu and select the "New Transcript Order" option.

The fee for transcripts is $70.00 for up to five copies and $5.00 for each additional copy requested at the same time. To have the transcript(s) sent via overnight delivery (FedEx), include an additional $15.00 per overnight package.
