By passing the three-step exam, you become eligible to apply for an unrestricted medical license in the United States.

The fees below apply to students and graduates of Medical Schools in the United States and Canada accredited by the LCME or AOA.

** Eligibility periods with a start date between September 1, 2020 and March 1, 2021 are automatically extended to end on June 30, 2021 in accordance with the May 8, 2020 announcement posted to USMLE.org. For eligibility periods with a start date on or after April 1, 2021, the standard three-month eligibility will be applied.

Please note: If you submit a payment for registration and/or examinee records services that is uncollectible and returned to the NBME, you will be charged a $25 fee. No further services will be provided until payment is received.
