NBME Welcomes New Vice President of Test Development

The National Board of Medical Examiners® (NBME®) is pleased to announce that Ken Ridgley joined the organization as Vice President, Test Development in mid-February 2019. 

“Ken’s industry knowledge of innovative approaches, processes, and systems is the right complement for the momentum building in NBME’s continuous improvement journey,” said Craig Mills, Senior Vice President. “His desire to support our mission of serving the public health through state-of-the-art assessment makes his selection all the more appropriate.”

Through Ken’s work with a diverse assessment client base, he has gained experience in alternative methods of item development across multiple industries, which will benefit all NBME examinations. His expertise with industry-leading technology solutions for test-item databases, authoring, and exam construction all align with NBME’s objectives to increase value in its current examinations, explore alternative assessments, and discuss new approaches and competencies to serve the healthcare consumers.

Mr. Ridgley was previously Vice President, Test Development for Prometric where he worked for ten years leading their Global Test Center Support function, Operations Command Center and most recently, Test Development. Prior to this, he spent 10 years in progressive leadership roles managing large scale, global teams in process improvement, change management, strategic planning, and organizational development.
