Employees donate art supplies to Children's Hospital through Lucy Belle's Rainbow

Posted May 10, 2018

From March 12 through April 16, employees at the National Board of Medical Examiners® (NBME®) collected art supplies for "swag bags" donated to children undergoing treatment at a local children's hospital.

The NBME proudly supports employee involvement in the community through a dedicated "Volunteering at NBME" group, which fundraises for and builds relationships with several local organizations. The NBME also provides employees with paid volunteer hours that employees are encouraged to use to support causes about which they are passionate.

The NBME worked with Lucy Belle's Rainbow for the collection of crayons, sketchbooks, watercolor kits, glue sticks, markers, colored pencils, and other supplies. Lucy Belle's Rainbow is an initiative to bring the power of art and art therapy to children undergoing cancer treatment, in an effort to help children and their families cope with stress. The organization was inspired by the memory of Lucy Belle Perkins "whose love of art and all things beautiful will always exist."
