Clinical Science Mastery Series

Self-Assessments for the Clinical Science Mastery Series are built to the same content specifications as the NBME clinical science subject examinations. This web-based series provides self-assessments for US and international medical students who want to assess their knowledge of the clinical sciences covered during a clerkship or medical education course. Self-assessments are available for each of the following:

  • Clinical Neurology
  • Emergency Medicine
  • Family Medicine
  • Medicine
  • Obstetrics/Gynecology
  • Pediatrics
  • Psychiatry
  • Surgery

Performance Feedback

  • A score interpretation guide with a conversion table that translates an assessment score to an approximated total score of the Subject Examination score scale.
  • The ability to review the correct answer for all items.

Essential Information for Self-Assessments
  CS Mastery Series
Format One or more forms per clinical science discipline: 50 multiple-choice items. Item formats are similar to those used in clinical science subject tests.
Standard-Paced One section; 50 items. Up to 1 hour, 15 minutes to complete the section.
Self-Paced One section; 50 items. Up to 5 hours to complete the section.
Access & Assessment Self-Assessments are delivered over the Web. You must log on to access a self-assessment and start it within 30 days (access period). Once the self-assessment is started, you must complete it within 20 days. You may sign off and resume/continue the self-assessment at any time during this 20-day administration period.
Fees These self-assessments are available for a fee of $20.00 in US currency. Payment is non-refundable.
